Asbestos Project Monitor / Air Sampling Technician
We are seeking an Asbestos Project Monitor/Air Sampling Technician to assist with fast-expanding project demands at both our Latham headquarters as well as our Poughkeepsie branch office on a part-time/as-needed basis. An opportunity to transition to full-time employment with benefits may be available for the right candidate.
As an Asbestos Project Monitor/Air Sampling Technician at C.T. Male, you will oversee assorted environmental remediation projects, inclusive of asbestos, mold, lead, etc. Daily functions may include the collection of air samples, project oversight to monitor regulatory compliance, and interface with Abatement Contractor Supervisor(s) and/or foremen, NYS inspectors & building owners, to enhance QA/QC associated with construction, demolition, or renovation activities. In support of project needs, prompt attendance, proper site documentation, and equipment organization will be highly valued and expected.
Requirements:
- Be a minimum of eighteen (18) years old
- Have a High School diploma or High School-equivalency degree, or higher
- Be able to read & write English
- Be comfortable performing basic math & science problems
- Maintain a clean & viable NYS Driver’s License or NYSDMV ID Card
- Possess reliable daily transportation capable of transporting large air monitoring equipment
- Experience in asbestos-related projects or environmental site assessments is a plus
- Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations as well as Microsoft Office products is a plus
Working hours are typically 7am-5pm M-F, with extended shift hours (i.e. overtime, overnight, weekends, holidays) occasionally required to satisfy project deadlines. Projects may include working outdoors, within attics/crawlspaces/boiler rooms, working at elevated heights, climbing ladders/scaffolding, utilizing lifts, etc.
Pay Range: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
