Standard Solar, in partnership with US Light Energy, requested professional engineering design services for a 5MW solar system to be built in Clifton Park, NY. C.T. Male Associates was the Engineer of Record (EOR) for both the pre-construction phase and the construction phase. Prior to construction, C.T. Male Associates reviewed the DC and low voltage AC equipment proposed by Standard Solar, developed a medium voltage system design, and completed a short circuit/overcurrent protective device coordination study. Relay coordination and protection was evaluated, and settings provided for utility approval. The site recloser program was provided by C.T. Male Associates along with DC elementary schematics for installation. Utility pole structural analysis was also conducted and provided for approval by National Grid for the MV interconnection. Additional support was provided for utility review and approval. The construction phase services included submittal reviews, site visits, and construction support. All designs were compliant with applicable New York and National Grid electrical codes and standards.
