C.T. Male Associates Helps City of Glens Falls Obtain Grant To Expand First-Time Home Buyer Program To Warren County

During March, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the City of Glens Falls will be receiving a $389,000 state HOME Program grant. The much-needed funds from this grant will go towards replenishing funding for the Glens Falls Community Development Office’s first-time home buyer program. This important program assists individuals and families with down payments and closing costs. With the receipt of this grant, Glens Falls will also be able to expand the scope of its first-time home buyer program to offer assistance to individuals and families anywhere in Warren County.

C.T. Male Associates was retained by the City of Glens Falls to research and prepare the successful grant application, which will fund the purchase of up to 15 homes for eligible low and moderate income first-time home buyers anywhere in Warren County.  The grant application was notable because it attempted, and succeeded, at expanding a long-time city-only program to additional households and homes to be purchased throughout Warren County.

The state funding is part of $17 million in HOME Program funding for 51 projects statewide. Grant funding is expected to be available for distribution around June or July of this year.
