Environmental Scientist / Planner
As an Environmental Scientist/Planner, you will execute and assist with the management of environmental due diligence projects, supervising and mentoring junior field staff, to provide wetland and ecological consulting services. You will be involved in project permitting and review (SEQRA, ACOE, NYSDEC, etc.). Your work may include creating brownfield area-wide plans, downtown and waterfront revitalization plans, site reuse feasibility plans, and other initiatives. You will engage in project proposal preparation and deliver public presentations related to project work and business development efforts, focusing on municipal and private-sector clients, specifically in the solar/renewables industry.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four (4) year accredited college or university.
- Five plus (5+) years of related experience and/or training.
- Experience in project management and coordination, environmental due diligence, environmental chemistry, wetland hydrology, plant identification, wetland regulations, soils science, land development processes, municipal/civic processes, and project funding mechanisms.
- Knowledge of applicable environmental and land use regulations.
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and geomatic concepts/principles.
- Ability to acquire certifications, including Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) and American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Pay Range: $70,000 – $75,000 per year, paid weekly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
