Albany Water Board – Equipment Storage Facilities
C.T. Male Associates was awarded the contract for design, bid and construction administrative services to evaluate existing operations at the 35 Erie Blvd property, determine areas of site improvement, and develop heated and unheated storage options based on equipment type and use. The primary goal of the efforts was to improve efficiency of operations and condense overall storage as well as accommodate leasing of a portion of the site to the adjacent neighbor (Huck Finn Play Land).
The Scope of Work generally included:
- The demolition of the existing facility, including abatement measures for asbestos containing materials and lead paint;
- Temporarily move/storage of existing stockpiles and materials for re-use
- Construction of a new facility that accommodates current and future planned needs of the AWB
- Site plan design and development that accounts for vehicle traffic patterns, garage access, stockpile storage and laydown storage area access, site security, lease area access, and limited public access area
- Site utility connections and distribution
- Measures for stormwater management collection and treatment
- Implementation of LEED and other sustainable practice for both site and building development
- SEQRA and other necessary permitting
