M&T Bank
Solar PV Consulting
C.T. Male Associates has been retained by M&T Bank (NYSE: MTB) to perform independent engineering reviews of commercial-scale solar photovoltaic projects. As part of the Bank’s due diligence, the review is intended to validate the systems are constructed per industry standards and will produce the stated annual energy (kWh).
For each system, C.T. Male Associates reviews construction drawings, confirming the proposed electrical design meets the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Upon system commissioning, C.T. Male Associates conducts a site visit, verifying that the equipment installed matches proposed plans and that the photovoltaic system was constructed in accordance with design documents, the requirements of the NEC, and accepted industry standards. Solar irradiation measurements and thermal imaging data is collected, estimated PV panel output is calculated, and then compared to the real time power output registered by the on-site data monitoring system.
C.T. Male Associates prepares an independent power production output report, utilizing software programs including PVWatts, NREL’s SAM, and PVsyst. The simulations are prepared based on a typical meteorological year (TMY) dataset, obtained from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Final projections are prepared in conjunction with system design, observed site conditions, and appropriate loss factors. The report includes total annual energy output and a monthly energy output profile.
