Rich Campagnola, RA Certified as a Code Enforcement Official
Rich Campagnola, R.A., principal architect in Upstate NY for C.T. Male Associates recently completed the Basic Training for the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code Enforcement Program. The Basic Training Program consists of the following six courses:
- 9A – Introduction to Code Enforcement Practices, Part 1
- 9B – Introduction to Code Enforcement Practices, Part 2
- 9C – Inspection Procedures for Existing Buildings
- 9D – General Building Principles
- 9E – Residential Code of New York State
- 9F – Building Code of New York State
Certification as a Building Safety Inspector requires the successful completion of Courses 9A, 9B and 9C, and qualifies an individual to conduct fire and property maintenance inspections. Certification as a Code Enforcement Official requires the successful completion of all six courses (9A through 9F), and qualifies an individual for all aspects of code enforcement.
Code Enforcement ensures the Health, Safety and Resilience of the Built Environment for all New Yorkers. The Division of Building Standards and Codes (BSC) administers the mandatory statewide Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code (Uniform Code) and State Energy Conservation Construction Code (Energy Code). C.T. Male Associates can now provide a variety of services related to the Uniform Code and Energy Code, including technical assistance, building safety inspections, administration of variance applications, and assisting local governments with the enforcement practices to cover new construction, building rehabilitation, fire safety, and housing maintenance.
