EnterSolar
Cary Road Solar Project
C.T. Male Associates is proud to be a part of New York’s first community solar array. On behalf of our client, EnterSolar, C.T. Male Associates was retained to assist with site design services and preparation of a site plan application to the Town of Halfmoon for two independent ground-mounted solar photovoltaic arrays on neighboring parcels on Cary Rd.
The Eastern parcel covers 6 acres, with a rated capacity of 1.85 megawatts. The installation is complete, is owned and operated by EnterSolar and will generate approximately 2.5 million kWh per year of solar electricity. The energy will feed into the NYSEG electrical grid and will be utilized to offset the utility bills of a local company.
The Western parcel covers 1.8 acres, with a rated capacity of 600 kilowatts. The installation is complete and is to be owned and operated by EnterSolar and will generate approximately 800,000 kWh per year of solar electricity. The energy feeds into the NYSEG electrical grid and is utilized to offset the utility bills of NYSEG customers, resulting in the first Community Net Metering Site in New York State.
C.T. Male Associates’ services have included site and civil design services resulting in the creation of a Site Plan Application that was submitted to the Town of Halfmoon. C.T. Male Associates attended Planning Board meetings, prepared plan revisions and resubmissions, prepared a SPDES permit and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), performed an asbestos survey of a barn located on the property and provided asbestos project monitoring and air sampling services during abatement of said asbestos. The project was approved in 2016.
