Queensbury Highway Maintenance Garage

C.T. Male Associates was chosen to evaluate the existing highway maintenance garage for the Town of Queensbury, as well as generate a new design for the site based on the current capacity and function of the facility. The design concept determined the best approach was to maintain the existing garage as a split of cold storage and heated mechanics bays. A new building would be construction and equipped with a center drive aisle and parking for 22 tandem vehicles. C.T. Male Associates performed a subsurface investigation of the site that included soil test borings, test pits, and infiltration tests. A geotechnical report was prepared that included shallow foundation and stormwater design recommendations. Site challenges included maintaining uninterrupted function of the existing garage during the investigation and construction phases of work and relatively deep fill deposits, including buried organic materials.
